THE ROLE:

As a Staff Hardware Engineer focused on SerDes (Serializer/Deserializer) validation and test development, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and performance of our advanced hardware products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans, as well as developing firmware for embedded systems. Your expertise in Python for test automation and validation processes will be crucial in advancing our product offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and execute comprehensive validation and test plans for SerDes interfaces and systems. Design and implement automated test scripts in Python to streamline the validation process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware design, firmware development, and software engineering to ensure product quality. Debug hardware and firmware issues, providing timely solutions and recommendations. Support the development of embedded firmware, implementing features and functionalities as needed. Conduct performance analysis and characterization of SerDes systems to meet product specifications. Document test procedures and results, providing clear communication of findings to stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise in SerDes technology and validation methodologies.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Proficiency in Python for test development and automation. Experience with firmware development for embedded systems, including knowledge of microcontrollers and real-time operating systems. Solid understanding of high-speed digital design and signal integrity principles. Familiarity with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Experience with industry-standard SerDes protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet). Knowledge of scripting and automation tools beyond Python, such as shell scripting, TCL, C++ Familiarity with AI assisted code development Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
