Sales & Events Manager UCLA

We are looking for an experienced professional to join UCLA Conference and Catering Management (CCM) team as a Sales & Events Manager. You will work with vendors, clients, and UCLA departments to coordinate and execute events of all sizes, ensuring each event reflects the universitys standards and hospitality?first culture.

Base Pay Range

$70,900 / year $145,200 / year

Department Summary

UCLA Conference and Catering Management works with vendors and support resources to make sure every aspect of an event is a success. From transportation to arranging off?campus excursions, CCM coordinates everything. CCM also works closely with other UCLA departments to facilitate client program needs such as special classes, lectures, or team?building activities on UCLAs Challenge Course.

Position Summary

At UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services (H&HS), you become part of UCLAs tradition of excellence by providing quality housing, dining, and hospitality services to student residents, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. You will join a team of more than 2,600 members who embrace the motto Hospitality First! and who excel at delivering warm, gracious service.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years professional hospitality experience in hotel group or catering sales, convention services, or collegiate conference and events industry.
  • Ability to close sales and negotiate high?value contracts.
  • Thorough knowledge of event planning and public relations concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to produce high?quality events.
  • Ability to maintain high productivity across diverse tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen and social perceptiveness.
  • Ability to give clear directives and exercise independent, rational judgment.
  • Proficient in standard business software (Microsoft Office Suite) and hospitality sales software (e.g., Delphi).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business English writing skills.
  • Knowledge of University accounting forms and procedures (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of H&HS operational unit policies and procedures (preferred).


Special Conditions for Employment
  • Background check and Live Scan required before start of employment.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Proof of satisfactory driving record required.
  • Must carry a University cell phone.
  • Occasional offsite conference and meeting attendance.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work as needed.
  • Drive University vehicles such as electric carts.
  • 5% domestic travel.



Schedule

Monday?Friday 8:00?am?5:00?pm (some weekend shifts in summer).
