Job Description
Spherion Staffing of Lake and Sumter County has an opening for a Research & Development Culinary Intern to join a manufacturer located in Eustis, FL. This is a temporary position scheduled for Summer 2024 and will last 3 months. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The pay rate is $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience.
The individual in this role will collaborate with chefs, food scientists, and other team members is essential for brainstorming ideas, troubleshooting issues, and refining recipes during the development process. Ideal candidates will be recent graduates or current students of a culinary arts program.
Responsibilities:
-Demonstrate good laboratory practices and follow SOPs.
-Prepare demos for product development activities as directed.
-Support the team in preparation, set up, and documentation of test results, etc.
-Maintain instruments, including daily calibrations, and ensure lab equipment is ready and available for use, including cleaning and set up.
-Maintain retain sample area up-to-date, lab data &inventory logs.
-Execute tests/experiments as directed.
-Effectively communicate with lab and operations personnel.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
-Effective organization skills are necessary for managing multiple projects, keeping track of recipe iterations, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for collaborating with team members, sharing ideas, and documenting recipe development processes.
-The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and efficiently utilize time during recipe development and testing is essential for productivity and project success.
