The City of San Carlos Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a motivated and community-focused Recreation Coordinatorto lead and support a wide range of programs. Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee seasonal activity guide production
  • Coordinate contract classes for all ages
  • Manage Club Ed summer camps
  • Fee Assistance Program
  • Oversee rentals for City-owned facilities
  • Supervise part-time staff
  • Promote programs through social media and community outreach
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and participant satisfaction
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Assist with budget planning and monitoring
  • Support department-wide events and initiatives

Ideal Candidate

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or a related field
  • At least one year of professional experience in recreation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Special Requirements

  • Ability to speak clearly and understandably
  • Dexterity to type and maintain records
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (e.g., setup and breakdown of activities)
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime

Licenses and Certifications

Possession of an appropriate California driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
