Job Description

Salary: $115,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

  • To excel in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, along with four to ten years of relevant experience or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in formal problem-solving techniques, financial controls, and product costing.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint), along with Internet software and Email.
  • Technical expertise in automating welding techniques in compliance with ASME standards.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Where permissible, you will need to disclose your vaccination status regarding the COVID-19 vaccine upon starting employment.
Responsibilities:
  • In this role, you will take on the following key responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine welding techniques, procedures, and use of welding equipment (both manual and robotic) for metal fabrication projects.
  • Conduct research and investigations to innovate or enhance fabrication processes and welding equipment, as well as to discover new welding methods and techniques.
  • Prepare technical reports based on research and preventive maintenance findings.
  • Establish welding procedures to guide production personnel regarding material processes, heating requirements, and specifications.
  • Assess new developments in the welding field for potential application in current processes, including robotics.
  • Train and oversee technical staff to ensure adherence to established welding standards and procedures, as well as conduct weld tests for compliance with national codes.
  • Collaborate with personnel from other agencies, engineering departments, or clients to provide advice and share information regarding welding issues.
  • Conduct experimental welding to test new equipment, techniques, and materials.
  • Other duties as assigned, including defining and implementing capital projects, operational processes, production layouts, and labor standards.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S activities, and Kaizen events.
  • Follow the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
