Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Utility Line Locator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking the locations of underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. Your expertise will play a crucial role in preventing damage to utility infrastructure and ensuring the safety of workers and the public.
*Responsibilities*
- Utilize specialized equipment and technology to locate underground utility lines, including water, gas, electric, and telecommunications.
- Mark identified utility lines clearly and accurately on-site using appropriate signage and color codes.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to determine potential hazards related to underground utilities.
- Collaborate with construction teams to provide guidance on safe digging practices around marked utility lines.
- Maintain accurate records of utility locations and any relevant site conditions for future reference.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders regarding utility line locations and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing job duties.
*Requirements*
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in utility locating or related fields are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with construction sites and understanding of excavation safety practices is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to operate specialized locating equipment safely and efficiently.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
