Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced  Locator to support our drilling operations. The Locator will be responsible for operating locating equipment, tracking the drill head, and providing real-time guidance to the Driller to ensure safe and accurate bore paths. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate electronic locating equipment to monitor and track the drill head during directional drilling operations.
• Communicate drill head depth, pitch, and location to the Driller in real time.
• Read and interpret bore plans, maps, and utility drawings.
• Assist in planning and executing safe drill paths to avoid underground utilities.
• Mark underground utility lines as required before drilling begins.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot locating equipment.
• Assist the drilling crew with setup, operation, and site cleanup as needed.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety standards to prevent utility strikes and job site accidents.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Locator or in directional drilling strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and bore plans.
• Proficient in operating electronic locating systems.
• Strong verbal communication skills for constant coordination with Driller and crew.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform manual labor when needed.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred (not required).
• Safety certifications (OSHA, First Aid/CPR, etc.) are a plus.
