Responsibilities: · Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, accidents and prevent fires. · Conduct foot patrols · Monitor activities. · Wellness checks · Access control · Safety escorts · Using provided communication devices. · Represent UPS services. · Properly wear the issued uniform · Work with local law enforcement and emergency services · Provide friendly services to customers, employees and visitors. · Observe for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations on-site. · Other duties as described in Post Orders Required Skills/Abilities: · Must have an active guard card. · A valid ID or driver's license · A valid Firearm Permit · Baton & Pepper Gel permits are a plus. · Reliable transportation · Honesty and Integrity. · Able to work non-traditional hours including swing, graveyard, weekends and holidays. · Ability to react appropriately in high stress situations. · Bilingual is a plus. .Provide Proof of Purchase of owned weapon. Education and experience: · High School diploma or equivalent · Minimum of 2 years of guard experience preferred. · Law enforcement (P.O.S.T Certification) and/or military experience with an honorable discharge (DD214) · Knowledge of security protocols and equipment Physical requirements: · Must be able to conduct regular walking foot patrols. · Able to stand 8-12 hours a day. · Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (occasionally) Job Types: Full-time, part-time Benefits: · Health Insurance · Paid Time Off · Opportunities for overtime We are a drug free workplace.
