Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in San Angelo, Texas.

🏥 Behavioral Health RN – Travel Contract

Facility Info:

• Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:00)
• Duration: 13 weeks (approx. 91 contract days)
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes
• Unit: Behavioral Health – Locked Unit
• Age Groups: Pediatric (5–17), Adult, Geriatric

• Daily Census: ~40 | Beds: 80

   

🔍 Job Details

• Unit Types: Cedar & Mesquite (Children/Adolescents), Oak & Pecan (Adults)
• Patient Diagnoses: Mood disorders, Schizophrenia, PTSD, Substance Use, Suicidal Ideation, Eating Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, etc.
• Special Equipment/Procedures: N/A
• Support Services: Radiology, Social Work, Pharmacy, Transportation, Phlebotomy, Interpretation Services
• Charting System: Epic (preferred)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per contract

✅ Requirements

• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Travel experience highly preferred
  • Behavioral Health/Psychiatric experience with both adults and pediatrics
• Skills Required (incl. but not limited to):
  • De-escalation & Crisis Intervention
  • Medication Admin (PO, IM, IV, etc.)
  • Safe Program, Physical Hold Protocols, Seclusion Procedures
  • Diagnoses: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, etc.
  • Working with severe intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA) – Required
  • CPR
  • Safe Program (violence prevention/intervention)
• License: Active RN license
• Flu & COVID Vaccines: Required (Exemptions allowed for medical/religious)
