Emergency Room RN Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
  
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12-hour shifts)
  
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  
• Patient Ratio: 1:3
  
• Charting System: EPIC
  
• Scrub Color: Navy
  
• Parking: Free onsite parking
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required at submission)
  
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
  
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
  
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
  
• EPIC charting experience preferred
  
• Ability to float between Belleville and East campuses and inpatient units
  
• No local candidates within a 75-mile radius
  
• Must be available to work every other weekend
  
• Experience caring for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
  
• Perform advanced ER procedures: central line insertion, arterial lines, chest tubes, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, intubations, and trauma care
  
• Respond to emergency codes: code stroke, code STEMI, code blue, and other urgent situations
  
• Care for a diverse patient population, including trauma, sexual assault, mental health, and pediatric patients
  
• Utilize advanced equipment: rapid infusers, hypothermia devices, glidescopes, bedside cardiac monitors, ultrasound, and infant warmers
  
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and float to other units as needed
  
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC
  
• Participate in ongoing education and orientation (24 hours provided)
