Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher with Autism or Cognitively Impaired (CI) certification is needed to support middle school students with mild to moderate special needs. This full-time, in-person position is available near Tecumseh, MI, for the 2025-2026 school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support to a caseload of 11 students in grades 4 through 8
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to students educational needs
• Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster student growth
• Utilize specialized strategies to address the unique learning challenges of students with Autism or CI
• Maintain detailed documentation of progress and municate regularly with families and school personnel
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Michigan Special Education Certification with an Autism or Cognitively Impaired endorsement
• Proven experience working directly with students diagnosed with Autism or cognitive impairments
• Ability to demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and foster a positive learning environment
• Excellent munication and interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
• mitment to punctuality with a daily schedule from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm, including the requirement to arrive 10 minutes early and leave 10 minutes after dismissal

Work Schedule and Duration:

• 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Contract position for the 2025-2026 school year, from approximately August 18, 2025 to June 12, 2026 (dates to be finalized)
