Job Summary:

· The Shipping and Receiving (SR) Supervisor directs and manages shipping, receiving, packing, and warehouse operations, while working side-by-side with the crew to fulfill customer orders.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Supervisory:

· Execute cycle-count program as defined by the Inventory Manager; improve inventory accuracy.

· Complete daily and weekly logistical tasks and participate in meetings as needed.

 

 

Non-Supervisory:

· Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping, both domestic and international, with a variety of transportation companies and carriers.

· Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders.

· Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading, including compliance documentation.

· Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment.

· Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.

· Collaborate with other managers and supervisors and departments to optimize processes.

· Resolve issues regarding shipped orders.

· Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.

· Assist in evaluating new package materials and systems.

· Use forklift to move materials safely throughout the manufacturing facility.

· Package outgoing orders for delivery according to common carrier requirements for national or international shipping.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

· Minimum HS diploma/ GED required.

· Prefer, five years’ experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment.

· Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.

 

Special Requirements:

· Valid driver license free from major infractions for local deliveries and errands.

 

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

· High level oral and written communication skills for written and verbal interactions with customers, vendors, and other employees.

· Ability to establish and maintain collaborative work relationships with co-workers and vendors.

· Ability to prioritize assignments and to manage multiple projects/responsibilities simultaneously.

· Ability to read and write in English and perform simple math calculations.

· Good problem-solving skills to identify product related issues, collect data, identify potential causes, and draw rational conclusions.

 

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

 

· Speech and hearing sufficient for constant in-person and telephone communication.

· Manual dexterity sufficient for manipulation of equipment gauges production materials and small hand tools and to perform repetitive motions of the upper extremity, hands and/or wrists.

· High level of visual acuity to perform material and equipment inspections.

· Ability to stand for extended periods at a workstation and to move freely throughout the warehouse, production, and office area.

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk, in company vehicles, etc.

 

Environmental Conditions:

Work is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to significant temperature variability, heat, noise, chemical odors, rotating and stationary equipment. Personal protective must be worn for certain operations and in certain locations including but not limited to eye protection, hearing protection, appropriate footwear.
