Description

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Senior Program Director of Membership and Programs will drive new membership sales, maximize retention, and support departments to improve member engagement. They will provide leadership and creative input in developing and implementing association-wide membership and programming efforts. They will directly supervise the Membership, Healthy Living, Aquatics, Sports, and Family Department Directors or leads. They will work in partnership with the branch executive and board of advisors to create and execute branch-specific events to foster community and fundraising. This person will represent the YMCA in accordance with its mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Achievement: Responsible for membership sales and retention, as well as aquatics, sports, and healthy living program sales and retention. Conduct quarterly meetings with direct reports to review progress on OKRs, teamwork, and career development.
  • Customer Service and Experience: Create a welcoming environment, provide excellent member service, exceed expectations, and engage members proactively.
  • Operations: Ensure coverage during all open hours, coordinate leader-on-duty shifts, and maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Fiscal Management: Develop and manage annual budgets, identify growth opportunities, forecast, and address financial issues timely.
  • Membership and Program Growth: Meet or exceed sales and retention goals across all programs, ensure effective prospect engagement, and track key data.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Maintain standards for scheduling, cleanliness, and safety, and address any issues promptly.
  • Marketing and Community Engagement: Promote initiatives, participate in community events, manage social media, and cross-promote programs.
  • Collaboration and Development: Work with other departments, support philanthropy efforts, and help meet fundraising goals.

Outcomes and Expectations

  • Enhance member retention and engagement, aiming for an 80%+ net promoter score.
  • Respond promptly to member concerns and foster a strong community feeling.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree in exercise science or related field.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • At least 3 years experience in adult learning and 3-5 years in aquatic, group exercise, or training roles.
