Position Summary: This position will effectively lead and advance Bimbo Bakeries USA’s Direct Store Delivery (BBU DSD) merchandising and saturation targets across the country and manage the schedule to ensure core markets reach full potential in partnership with the local BU Sales. Coordinate with local leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure project completions. Lead saturation planning sessions to establish task list with owners and dates along with participating in local weekly meetings to ensure team is on track. In addition, the Express World-Class Market & Saturation Senior Manager will manage our World-Class merchandising best practices and standards for the convenience, mom and pop, drug, and dollar channels within the Express format. The World-Class Market & Saturation Senior Manager must be a highly motivated individual with experience in the Express business and can lead with behaviors that encourage innovation, change, and teamwork. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop overall saturation schedule and task lists for all sales operations.
  • Ensure BBU Way to Sell and BBU Way to Operate standards are being followed, through process and tool utilization.
  • Develop location specific saturation goals, schedules, and align with local teams.
  • Participate in location specific weekly meetings to ensure on time completion of playbook tasks. 
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans against them. 
  • Manage the Soliciting Playbook and Soliciting Toolkit.
  • Manage the go live and hyper care process to ensure World-Class market execution and sustainability of our saturation efforts. 
  • Lead and coach leadership teams to effectively achieve their saturation targets through the implementation of the Soliciting playbook, processes, and tools.
  • Lead a team of Solicitation & Merchandising Specialists that will support Express operations to achieve targeted saturation and growth. 
  • Develop location specific soliciting schedules and align with local teams.
  • Partner with the local Sales and Sales Operations leads, the Distribution Engineering team, other functional support.

Job Requirements

Operational Capabilities:

  • Ability to effectively lead change to implement new processes and achieve sustainable growth and saturation in the convenience, mom & pop, drug, and dollar channels.
  • Must have the ability and experience to influence the frontline, sales leadership, and insight stakeholders; independently and collaboratively with sales, marketing, customer, or supply chain team to pursue the BBU vision for growth and saturation in the Express channels.
  • Ability to support established project objectives, checkpoints, timelines, and lead team members to meet project expectations. 
  • Ability to exchange complex information to obtain an agreement in ambiguous or difficult situations.
  • Proficient in report creation, simplifying technical content for non-technical audiences, and using both remote and in-person presentation tools.
  • Excellent understanding of best-in-class BBU soliciting, merchandising, ordering, and operational processes and systems is a plus.
  • Ability to engage and inspire the team.
  • Ability to effectively lead direct reports.
  • Ability to effectively lead process change to implement new processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills while interacting at all levels of the organization.


Education and Work History:
Bachelor’s degree in business management or marketing is preferred. A combination of education, training and DSD sales experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.


The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Express DSD market development and saturation, project management, business process analysis, distribution, training, account executive and or DSD sales development role. 
  • Computer skills and proficiency, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word are required, as well as proficiency with data analysis, training material creation and developing and managing soliciting tools.
  • Proven knowledge of growth opportunities in convenience, mom and pop, drug, and dollar channels within the Express format 
  • Understanding of the DSD structures and operations a plus.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in identifying ways to sustainably grow and improve the business in partnership with the local sales teams.
  • Ability to leverage information to understand and develop effective business strategies with cross-functional alignment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language is a plus.
  • Travel is required, 90%
