Job Description

Salary: $100,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

  • We seek a Senior Managed Service Provider (MSP) Engineer who possesses professionalism and technical know-how. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of seven years of experience in the IT sector, specifically supporting moderate to complex small business and co-managed business environments. Experience with a previous IT consulting firm or Managed Services Provider and familiarity with the ConnectWise suite of tools (PSA/RMM) is greatly preferred.
  • You must demonstrate advanced or expert-level knowledge in the following areas:
  • Fortinet with firewalls (including packet sniffing), switches, access points (APs), and VPNs (this will be assessed through questions and practical lab setup).
  • Microsoft Server systems, specifically from Windows Server 2008 onward.
  • Active Directory, including AD Security/Groups, roles, permissions, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Microsoft Desktop systems starting from Windows 7.
  • Networking skills: IP Addressing, subnets, default gateways, TCP/IP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, SMTP routing, VLANs, and packet tracing.
  • Firewalls: setup and troubleshooting of objects, rules, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
  • Wireless network configuration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical server assembly for HP servers with RAID configurations, iLO, and similar systems.
  • Experience with remote access solutions (VPN and Terminal Services).
  • Implementation and support of Two-Factor Authentication/Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA).
  • Support for mobile and remote computing devices like tablets, iPhones, and laptops.
  • Administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365/Email, including mailbox management, mail flow troubleshooting, and shared mailbox setups.
  • Administration of Office 365/Exchange Online, archiving, mail flow rules, and connectors.
  • Experience with Hyper-V and VMware administration.
Responsibilities:
  • Your responsibilities will include all aspects of delivering IT projects that involve both client interactions and internal operations. This entails planning, creating project documentation, developing project plans, setting and managing client expectations, measuring project success milestones, implementing projects, and documenting processes and outcomes in full detail.
  • You will provide expertise and mentorship as a key escalation point for service desk tickets and technicians, administer client servers, network devices, firewalls, and desktops, and identify areas for improvement in processes and procedures. Additionally, you will help determine the required equipment and software to meet client needs while ensuring all tickets and projects are regularly updated and tracked meticulously.

This position is local, based in Pittsburgh, PA, and requires onsite presence at client locations. A reliable mode of transportation to transport equipment is essential.
