Seasonal Concession Worker

Seasonal concession worker position available with the City of Appleton, Parks and Recreation Department. This seasonal position is located at Reid Golf Course & Jones Park in Appleton, WI.

Salary: $13.41 - $15.46 Hourly

Opening Date: 10/24/2025

Closing Date: 12/31/2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time (US & Canada)

Examples Of Duties

Nature Of Work: Seasonal Essential Job Functions

• Collect concession fees from patrons using proper transaction procedures; record additional transactions as needed
• Prepare food in a safe and clean manner and maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety with food preparation, equipment, and dispensers
• Sell and stock concession products. Serve concessions and maintain concession area(s) cleanliness in accordance with Health Department guidelines
• Operate cash register computers while following cash handling policies and procedure
• Be at the facility in uniform and ready to work at the designated start of the work shift
• Perform start-up and take-down of concession related equipment
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Facility Supervisor

Other Job Functions

• Maintain good communication with other staff members
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patrons
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
• Work closely with the Parks and Recreation Department staff to ensure all department rules and policies are observed
• Maintain storage cleanliness throughout concession area

Typical Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of age
• Have experience and/or ability in working with money
• Ability to work with varied age groups, including children
• Ability to operate cash register and food equipment dispensers
• Ability to make general arithmetic computations accurately and with reasonable speed
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and the public in a courteous and tactful manner
• Shall wear Parks and Recreation staff uniform per the City of Appleton dress code
• Work nights and/ or weekends
• Work at multiple sites
