This position is located on an offshore oil platform in Federal waters off the coast of southern California.

1.Must be willing and able to work a 14 on 14 off schedule, consisting of 12 hour work shifts, living on the platform during your entire hitch in shared living quarters. Schedule starts on Wednesday. 2. Desire to and understanding of how to work safely, follow all rules and regulations, and wear/use appropriate safety equipment at all times. 3.Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed including off-site training on scheduled days off. 4.Able to work at heights, as high as 210’ above the ocean surface. 5.Able to lift heavy equipment and tools. 6.Able to follow directions and work as a part of a team or individually. 7.Able to pass swing rope certification to safely arrive to and from the platform and crew boat. 8.Able to walk on uneven and/or slippery surfaces. 9.Enjoy working outdoors in all weather. 10.Enjoy physical work and not afraid of getting dirty. 11.Ability to read, write and speak in English and perform basic math quickly and accurately. 12.Computer literate with experience using MS Office and Outlook; email and internet.

Essential Functions:

Duties include, but are not limited to, safely and efficiently performing all tasks within the Rig Operations Areas of the Platform at the direction and under the supervision of the Crane Operator. Tasks may include moving/relocating equipment, containers, pipe, and various materials and supplies utilized in the operations and daily functions of the Drilling Rig. This includes offloading and back-loading of personnel, equipment and supplies, etc. from Ocean Going Vessels as well as moving heavy or bulky materials throughout the Rig’s Areas of Operations. In addition, tasks assigned may consist of performing maintenance of the equipment associated with and physically located within the Rig Structure and Rig Operations Areas of the Platform. Rig Roustabouts will also assist in performing Rig Up/Down and Rig Moving Operations; assist in Nipple Up/Down and care of the B.O.P. System and Well Head Equipment. When directed, Rig Roustabouts will also support Derrickman in the maintenance and operation of the Circulating System, Mud Pumps, and in the Chemical Mixing Area. Other essential duties performed by the Rig Roustabout include cleaning and painting as directed within the Rig Structure and all other Areas of Rig Operations on the Platform. When directed and properly trained, Rig Roustabouts will provide relief for the Floorhands, Derrickman, Motorman, or Pit Hand.

High School Diploma or GED.

3. Skills Required:

Ability to read, write and speak in English and perform basic math quickly and accurately. Computer literate with experience using MS Office and Outlook; email and internet. Ability to perform all duties outlined here, pass all physical requirements and work safely at all times.

Essential Physical Tasks:

Climbing stairs, walking on grated and/or uneven surfaces. Kneeling, standing, walking, climbing and sitting continuously throughout the 12 hour shift. Carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, 100+ lbs with assistance. Ability to see, speak, hear, and hang from a rope for 10 seconds in a dead hang using hands and arms only and then for another 10-20 seconds while swinging back and forth 3 times across a 10 foot span. Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test for self-contained breathing apparatus.
