Primary Maintenance/Janitor Job Description

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald's USA. This franchisee owns a license to use McDonald's logos and food products, for example, when running the restaurant. However, this franchisee is a separate company and separate employer from McDonald's USA. If you are hired for the job described in this posting, the franchisee will be your employer, not McDonald's USA. Only the franchisee is responsible for employment matters at the restaurant, including hiring, terminating, discipline, supervisions, staffing, and scheduling employees. McDonald's USA has no control over employment matters at the restaurant. McDonald's USA will not receive a copy of your employment application and it will have no involvement in any employment decisions, including whether you receive an interview for the job or whether you are hired.

Essential Functions:

The Primary Maintenance/Janitor assists management in achieving and maintaining outstanding interior and exterior restaurant cleanliness and maintaining restaurant equipment. Your restaurant will support you with the tools and training needed to succeed. All you need is a willingness to learn and a great attitude! You must be 18 years of age or older to work as a Primary Maintenance/Janitor.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Daily filtering of oil fryers
• Preventative maintenance, such as toaster cleaning, replacing air filters, etc.
• Maintaining outside grounds, including snow removal of walkways
• Deep cleaning of floors, inside and outside windows, stock rooms and restrooms
• Unloading delivery truck 2 times a week, to include appropriate product rotation
• Taking out and emptying trash compactor
• Changing light bulbs and other routine maintenance as needed
• May also assist in crew stations during peak times as needed

Physical Demands:

• Must work a schedule that fits the restaurant needs
• Stand and walk for long periods of time
• Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out
• Use muscles to lift, push, pull and carry objects: occasionally up to 40 pounds and frequently up to 10 pounds
• Complete tasks, works positions with repetitive motions
• Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
• Move safety throughout the restaurant including ladder and stair use
