Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic board-certified or board-eligible radiation oncologist to join our comprehensive oncology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing compassionate, state-of-the-art care to cancer patients using radiation therapy. This role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for the patients we serve.


Duties and responsibilities

Serve as the lead physician for cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy, overseeing their treatment from consultation through survivorship.

Assess patients to determine the most appropriate radiation treatment options based on their individual diagnosis and health.

Develop, prescribe, and oversee the implementation of highly individualized radiation treatment plans using advanced software and technology.

Provide clear and transparent communication to patients and their families about their treatment process, potential side effects, and expected outcomes.

Monitor patient progress throughout treatment, making adjustments to the treatment plan as necessary.

Work collaboratively with medical oncologists, surgeons, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

Manage and treat side effects related to radiation therapy.

Maintain accurate and detailed electronic patient records.

Stay current on the latest advances in radiation therapy techniques and oncology best practices.


Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited university.

Completion of a radiation oncology residency program.

Board certification in Radiation Oncology (or board-eligible with certification to be completed).

Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in [State].

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
