Overview Direct message the job poster from Equity Packaging Inc. - North America Full-Time Position Position Description Lead Productivity Improvement projects. Assess current packaging systems and identify opportunities for optimization as they related to materials, design, processes, performance and sustainability. Communicate with packaging suppliers and OEMs to research, assess and identify alternate packaging material and design solutions to achieve business and sustainability goals. Design and conduct manufacturing line trials / pilot builds to assess pack-out efficiency and prepare test samples. Conduct packaging simulation testing and real transit testing to evaluate potential solutions vs baseline. Analyze results and make recommendations based on learnings. Track and document end of life material flows through reuse, recycling, landfill, incineration. Influence design and material direction based on expertise and data. Prepare compelling business cases related to packaging change recommendations and present to key stakeholders. Create packaging standards and specifications. Create sustainable packaging guidelines and share with suppliers. Candidate Requirements Candidates must have a BS/MS in Packaging and a minimum of 3 years of package development experience with a major consumer products company. Engineer must be able to support and/or manage package development of multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment. Candidate should have familiarity with high-end packaging solutions and preferably, experience with Consumer or Electronics Products packaging design and development. Experience should include materials such as paperboard, flexible films, corrugate, and rigid. Experience in protective packaging systems including but not limited to cushioning. Experience writing and managing specifications. Understanding of sustainability LCA studies and parameters.
