Job Description

Job Title: Nuclear R&D System Engineer Location: Los Alamos, NM, US Position Overview: In this role, you will provide essential technical support in the development and improvement of processes while ensuring equipment operability and compliance across multiple organizational frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Develop, improve, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes in support of high-value production initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and adhere to Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Maintenance, and Conduct of Operations. Serve as a key contributor in R&D and Operations teams, addressing engineering challenges through research, design, testing, analysis, verification, and validation of solutions. Mentor early-career staff, postdocs, and students, fostering professional growth and development within the team. Present findings and progress updates at project meetings, showcasing engineering assignments and collaborating on project milestones. Adapt to evolving R&D demands while maintaining rigorous safety, security, compliance, and scheduled adherence. Eligibility and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Minimum Qualifications: Intermediate expertise in mechanical, manufacturing, machining, or other relevant engineering disciplines. Proven experience in conducting complex engineering work, including designing or reviewing projects, systems, or components. Demonstrated ability in performing system and component testing, along with developing, codifying, and validating engineering requirements. Strong analytical skills and a commitment to high-quality, timely deliverables. Desired Qualifications: Experience in various work environments and glovebox operations.
