Job DescriptionSelectek is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer interested in a career in the heavy industrial field. This role will focus on creating, storing, and managing documentation related to proprietary equipment essential to the heavy industrial technologies business unit. The engineer will report directly to the Manager of the Equipment Design Group and should have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers. Job Responsibilities: Create detailed fabrication drawings and parts lists for proprietary equipment. Develop general arrangement drawings for heavy industrial systems. Utilize 3D CAD software (Inventor) to design and expand product lines. Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Requisitions (PRs). Conduct technical reviews of vendor-designed components for compatibility. Inspect fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to address technical matters.Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) (BSMET not considered at this time). Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (Inventor preferred). Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Interest in heavy industrial sectors such as Cement, Mining, and Bulk Material Handling. Up to 5 years of experience (entry-level candidates with strong technical backgrounds will be considered). At least some 3D modeling experience from coursework or professional work.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with heavy industrial equipment design. Familiarity with bulk material handling systems. Engineering graduates from Georgia Tech or similar top-tier engineering schools are strongly preferred.Additional Details: Location: Atlanta, GA (on-site initially, hybrid flexibility post-conversion). Work Hours: Monday-Friday, Core Hours: 9 AM - 4 PM (flex start as early as 7 AM). Contract Term: 6-month contract-to-direct hire. Overtime: Occasionally required, paid at 1.5x bill rate.
