As a teacher at Uncommon Schools, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our curriculum and ensuring the success of our students. • Implement engaging curricula and activities that meet our high academic standards.
• Analyze assessments to measure student progress and use this data to inform and differentiate your teaching methods.
• Focus on student learning, thinking critically and strategically to meet their needs.
• Create a positive, structured learning environment that upholds our core values and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commit to your professional growth by participating in our annual three-week staff orientation and ongoing training throughout the year.
• Engage in grade-level activities and support school-wide functions throughout the year.

We are looking for strong candidates who possess the following:

• Mastery and enthusiasm for relevant academic subjects.

• A willingness to implement feedback from school leaders and colleagues to enhance your effectiveness as an educator.
• While a background in education is not required for new teachers, a demonstrated passion for working with K-12 students and prior experience in schools or urban communities is preferred.

• A proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting is preferred.
• Valid State Certification and a Master’s degree are beneficial but not required.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university before employment begins.
• A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher by the time employment begins.

The salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 . Starting pay is determined by various factors, including relevant full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $50,000.
