Position Overview

If you are a talented copywriter with a proven history of driving revenue via the written word—for landing pages, ads, email campaigns, and sales collateral—keep reading.

We are building a freelance copy team to support our marketing initiatives that reach millions of people annually. You'll imagine, draft, and edit narratives to compel people to take action, ultimately furthering our mission of creating 100,000 new business owners.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications

Here's a list of primary skills we believe are necessary for this role:

• 2+ years of experience in the areas of copywriting (not content writing — there are no blog posts, articles, or newsletters being written in this role)
• You're a pro at writing powerful marketing copy that converts for lead generation funnels, emails, webinars, and sales pages
• You love to offer ideas and new angles to improve the conversion power of current assets
• You're conversion-focused, not just fluff. You know that words inspire people to take action, not just look good on a screen
• But–this role is NOT for people who want to “prove themselves” and “cut their teeth” on the copy floor. This is for experienced writers who want to work closely with our media and marketing teams and do their best possible work
• Works best in a startup environment where we are learning, iterating, and shipping things quickly
• Experience with understanding general marketing principles, especially in the info product and education niche
• A self-starter; you learn quickly, absorb like a sponge, and take action

Why our work matters

The “Silver Tsunami” is in full effect, with Baby Boomers retiring and their businesses needing a succession plan.

Their businesses have been run for decades, many at a healthy profit, but alas, they have been overlooked by institutional investors.

And since many Millennials are focused on becoming YouTube stars and not wanting to own their parent's landscaping company (even if it's making millions)…these Boomers are forced to either close or sell their business.

Therein lies our opportunity.

We call them “Boring Businesses”. They are your local laundromats, car washes, pool cleaning routes, handyman services, etc.–the unsexy blue-collar businesses that no one thinks about but everyone needs. And boy are they profitable.
