Location: Hybrid role, Some Remote / Some On-Site. You need to live within a commutable distance of or be willing to relocate to Cincinnati, OH 45202 or Chicago, IL 60601

During your DevOps / Cloud Engineer journey, you will be provided with the skills needed to succeed. Under the tutelage of experienced developers and engineers, you will work on a team to hone both technical and interpersonal skills critical for real-world success. You’ll also be given the opportunity to work on real-world projects for one of our many clients. You'll receive top-notch training, mentorship, coaching, and ongoing support throughout your Catalyte career.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Basic proficiency using a computer and the internet
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. for 30 continuous months. Catalyte does not offer visa assistance or sponsorship of any kind

  • Must be able to able to report on-site/in-office (Hybrid Position)
  • Catalye's standard practice is not to require degrees, however some clients/projects have specific requirements. For this particular role a bachelor’s degree in one of the following STEM related areas is required

How does the program work?

By applying to this program, you will be required to complete an online assessment to determine your eligibility for our software development roles. Once you’ve passed the assessment, you will proceed to an interview with our team to assess your suitability for the position.

During the interview process, your interviewer will evaluate your skills and abilities to determine if you would be a good fit for this position. If you pass the interview and there’s an upcoming cohort aligned to your job role, you will be invited to join. 

Once invited to a cohort, you will undergo a comprehensive twenty-week full-time paid apprenticeship training program under the guidance of experienced software developers. The training encompasses a combination of lectures, online learning, group projects, and individual assignments. It is important to note that progressing past the training portion of the apprenticeship is contingent upon successfully completing all assignments while demonstrating professional acumen. Upon completing training, you will be deployed as a DevOps/Cloud Engineer, working with our client partners on real-world projects. 

You will learn

Programming Fundamentals (Python), Web Servers/Backend (Python/FastAPI/Postgres), Introduction to Cloud (Azure), Introduction to Containers (Docker), Introduction to DevOps, & Agile/Scrum.

You will work with technology such as Python, FastAPI, Azure, Docker, Artifactory, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Logging, SonarCube, and Terraform to help deploy infrastructure, services, and ensure systems are up and communicating with each other. 

Pay and benefits

You will receive your local minimum wage for 30 hours per week for the first 20 weeks. Starting in week 21, pay will increase to $40,000/year paid hourly, and you will receive additional benefits including paid holidays and time-off, health, vision and dental benefits.
