Engineering Manager
What You Will Do As the Engineering Manager, you will lead technical operations at a Tier I battery manufacturing facility. You will drive process optimization, oversee equipment performance, and ensure seamless integration of new technologies while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
How You Will Do It - Manage technical projects to enhance reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness across all systems
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive Safety, Quality and Productivity solutions while overseeing the technical services budget
- Lead technical specialists in executing projects and integrating new equipment/processes into production
- Serve as technical expert for operational challenges and compliance requirements (EPA/ISO)
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment and workflows
- Align local technical practices with corporate standards through close coordination
- Maintain 24/7 readiness for emergency support with flexible scheduling
- Combine responsibilities 3 & 9 from original list into comprehensive budget/standards oversight
What We Look For Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years experience in technical operations within manufacturing
- 3+ years in a technical leadership/supervisory role
Preferred:
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or TPM methodologies
- Experience in battery or automotive manufacturing
- Proficiency in CMMS and data analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of industrial systems, automation, and controls
What we do here Tampa, Florida is home to a fully integrated plant that manufacturers batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. As a fully integrated plant, we also decorate or label our batteries into the final product for our customers. We opened in 1958 and employ more than 280 people. We operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through Metropolitan Ministries, The United Way and Adopt-A-Road Tampa.
