Position Summary

The Electro Mechanic (2nd shift) is responsible for maintaining production, quality performance levels, and the efficient use of manufacturing equipment in accordance with his/her knowledge and training in conformance with established Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, installs and repairs equipment and machinery in accordance with SOP's and WI's.
  2. \n
  3. Expected to adhere to all safety rules in accordance with SOP's, GMP as well as federal, state and local safety regulations.
  4. \n
  5. Regular attendance and punctuality required in order to meet production needs of customers (Overtime may be required in accordance with the Contract).
  6. \n
  7. Expected to demonstrate our Company values and Code of Conduct.

  9. Periodically participates in department or quality team meetings. Suggests improvements and works alone or with others to implement improvements, as assigned.

Your Responsibilities

    \n
  1. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, cleaning and repairs of machinery and equipment.
  2. \n
  3. Troubleshoot and repair various electrical wiring, switches, relays, contactor, starters, AC / DC drives and motor.
  4. \n
  5. Running conduit, wiring outlets, breakers, transformers, and lighting.
  6. \n
  7. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic/pneumatic valves and cylinders and replace or repair as needed.
  8. \n
  9. Rebuild rack and pinion on presses.
  10. \n
  11. Replace gears, pulleys and various belts on machines, exhaust fans and AC units.
  12. \n
  13. Maintains required records, logs, etc. with regard to inspections, testing, maintenance, installation and repairs of equipment and machinery.

Your Profile

    \n
  • High School or GED equivalent is required
  • \n
  • 3 - 5 years' related mechanical and electrical experience
  • \n
  • Previous hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • \n
  • Licensure in the following a plus: forklift; plumbing; electrical or boiler operator
  • \n
  • Experience and knowledge of HVAC and Chiller systems
  • \n
  • Ability to speak, read and write English in order to understand operating and other related procedures and to complete all position related documentation.
  • \n
  • Mechanical and Electrical ability
  • \n
  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints
  • \n
  • Ability to handle hazardous chemicals
  • \n
  • Knowledge of hydraulics
  • \n
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs including Allen Bradley and Siemens
  • \n
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic skills.
  • \n
  • Performs basic computer skills including Mircosoft Office
  • \n
  • Ability to learn and implement GMP, SOPs and other procedures.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing for prolonged periods of time (8+ hours, with scheduled breaks) with frequent bending and kneeling; lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs and pushing and pulling of 150lbs. Mechanics may also climb ladders and step stools.

Business needs require that the employee in this position work an established 40 hours workweek and work additional hours outside of the standard schedule as production needs arise.

Personal protective equipment must be worn where required. Depending on work location, closed toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves or protection from high noise levels in needed. To ensure products satisfy the required quality levels and that operators are consistently efficient and effective, employees must wear protection clothing such as company provided and maintained uniform, coverall, frock, hair net, beard cover, etc in certain areas of the facility.

Vision: Mechanics are required to have 20/20 vision with or without correction.
