The EHS Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing the organization safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. This role involves performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, primarily focusing on safety with minimal oversight of health and environmental aspects. Responsibilities Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with SBM’s safety program and OSHA rules and regulations. Conduct training for managers and employees on site safety practices, company safety policies, and proper handling techniques for chemicals, materials, equipment, and PPE. Inspect and audit sites within the NYC market for hazards, determine corrective measures, and ensure implementation. Lead accident and injury investigations and develop injury reduction plans. Develop job safety analyses with employee involvement and train relevant staff. Represent the organization in customer meetings as needed. Maintain safety records and files. This position requires frequent travel within the mid-Atlantic market by car, with minimal overnight stays. Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of safety experience focusing on OSHA compliance, BBS, job safety analysis, RCA CAPA methods, and a business partner mindset. Behavioral safety experience is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required. Experience in facility services, distribution/warehousing, manufacturing, or similar industries is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
