Job Description

Our client is a full-service home medical equipment company offering a wide range of products including CPAP machines, ventilators, bath aids, and more. We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Traverse City team and support patients with medical equipment needs, insurance coordination, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service via inbound/outbound calls and email.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the use and care of respiratory equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and explain insurance coverage and financial responsibilities.
• Process orders, schedule deliveries, and verify referral documentation.
• Collaborate with Respiratory Department staff and Program Managers.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Assist walk-in patients with equipment returns and pickups.

Required Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of customer service or administrative experience in a medical, insurance, or office setting .
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical equipment and insurance details clearly.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of empathy and patience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist patients into seated positions.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant, CNA, or insurance verification experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, billing, or HIPAA regulations.
• Interest in or pursuing a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

On-Call Rotation (Post-Direct Hire):

• Remote on-call availability 1–3 times/month.
• Must have access to a private, secure location with Wi-Fi and computer.
• Compensation:
  • Weekdays (5 PM–9 PM): $25 stipend
  • Weekends (9 AM–9 PM): $60 stipend
  • Hourly wage paid for time spent on calls, plus stipend even if no calls are received.

Work Environment:

• On-site at the Traverse City store.
• Business casual attire or scrubs.
• Must wear closed-toe shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
