Under direct supervision, clean office buildings and other county facilities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.
2. Sweep, mop, wax and polish hard-surfaced floors including stair areas using power driven machines as needed.
3. Clean lavatories and lunchroom areas; replenish soap, paper and other supplies.
4. Assist with moving furniture or equipment as assigned.
5. Dust and polish furniture, windowsills, blinds and other fixtures as required.
6. Empty trash and garbage containers; collect trash in a central location on each floor for removal.
7. Notify supervisor of building and equipment repair needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
8th grade education.
Work experience is preferred.
Must have rudimentary ability to speak, read and understand English.
Must be able to work with the tools under the conditions described in this listing.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:
1. Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.
2. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.
3. Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Work is performed primarily indoors on a flat even surface which may be carpet, tile, or concrete. Aspects of the position may require work in the outdoor environment.
2. Indoor duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
3. Outdoor work will expose employee to natural weather conditions.
4. Employee is required to use stepladder; climb and descend stairs and work on stairways.
5. Work surface may be either wet of dry.
6. Employee works primarily alone following written instructions, but may periodically work as part of a team.
7. Employee is exposed to intermittent noise and vibration factors, chemicals, fumes, industrial cleaning agents, power cleaning equipment operated on wet or slick surfaces, as well as risks associated with climbing ladders and stairs.
8. Shift work may be required.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND MATERIALS
1. Primary equipment utilized includes buffer machine, stripper machine, vacuum cleaner, duster, mop, bucket, wringer, dust mop, push broom, hand broom, dust pan, ladder, dolly, and cleaning supply cart.
