GENERAL FUNCTION: This position manages and deepens relationships with the bank’s largest insurance clients—firms with substantial financial strength and a strong asset base both regionally and nationally. The role serves as the primary contact, delivering tailored financial solutions. In addition to insurance portfolio management, the role involves partnering with Private Equity firms to originate, underwrite, and oversee credit facilities for leveraged insurance portfolio companies. The individual will lead structuring and executing complex credit proposals, aligning with client needs and strategic goals. The role also includes selling the bank’s ancillary products and driving new client relationships through sector connections. The role requires a professional who is risk-aware, ethical, and client-focused, ensuring positive client experiences while operating within the bank's risk appetite. The individual should have industry expertise, strong relationship management skills, and experience in executing complex financial transactions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Grow and retain relationships with targeted clients, coordinating all aspects of the client relationship. Develop business strategies to generate new business. Lead and coordinate credit support and other product areas from application to closing. Deliver value-added financial solutions to clients, enhancing their business. Review and underwrite credit requests, ensuring satisfaction and appropriateness of services. Drive revenue growth through loans, deposits, fee income, and cross-selling services. Develop new credit and non-credit business within the assigned territory. Build deep knowledge of clients and prospects. Prepare and present credit proposals, ensuring completeness and viability. Manage relationship profitability and review processes. Collaborate with Credit Department staff to underwrite requests and monitor risk. Attend industry forums to deepen knowledge and network. Support Capital Markets teams by assessing securities and capital markets services suitability. Supervisory Responsibilities: May oversee or influence the performance of credit staff, providing feedback, developing talent, and ensuring succession planning. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred. 7–10+ years in Banking, Investment Banking, M&A, or Capital Markets; at least 3 years at Director level. Strong corporate finance and credit skills, with a proven track record in complex financial transactions. Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills. Effective communication with senior executives. Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and 63 licenses required; Series 24 preferred. Location: New York, NY.
