Job Description

Communications Officer

Our client, a respected scientific research company, is seeking a skilled Communications Officer to join their team. This is a contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate. You will collaborate closely with executives and team members to write, edit and produce high-quality content.

Compensation: $45-$47/hr*

*Potential offers vary based on experience level and qualifications

Responsibilities:
  • Produce multi-media content, including videos and photographs to support communication and outreach efforts
  • Write and edit executive communications
  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-departmental teams to create strategic fundraising materials, proposals, press releases, speeches, and donor reports
  • Develop written content for print and online publications
  • Attend events as needed to provide coverage and support
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as needed

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in writing & editing, preferably in a scientific environment
  • Strong understanding of scientific language/writing
  • Expert-level knowledge of grammar and punctuation
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Google platform
