Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering, advanced degree preferred but not required
• 4+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, highly preferred backgrounds would be: chemicals, specialty chemicals, plating chemicals or catalyst manufacturing
• Must have prior optimization, capital project experience and process improvement experience
• A big plus would be six-sigma certification; any experience with LEAN manufacturing techniques would also be a big plus
• Personality-wise, they are looking for someone who is hands-on; much of this job will be spent out in the plant and interfacing with operators and other plant personnel. This person must have an out-going personality and be an effective communicator

Job Description:
This person will work in a 100-person manufacturing plant; one side of the plant does catalyst recycling and the other half of the plant produces specialty chemicals. Unit operations that are used at the plant include reaction and distillation and it is a wet chemistry process. This person will be responsible for process optimization and process improvement as well as production support and small capital projects. This company prefers local candidate or candidates from California and they can help someone within California relocate. Minimal travel will be associated with this position.
