Hatteras Island Pet Resort has an immediate opening for an Animal Care Technician. We are currently looking for 15-20 hours a week, with 30+ hours a week in the summer and the potential for year‑round full‑time employment for the right person. Availability at least one weekend day (Saturday and/or Sunday) is a must. Pay starts at $15/hour. Requirements 18+ Valid Driver's License Reliable Transportation Ability to lift 40+ lbs unassisted Ability to remain calm under pressure Preferred Customer Service Experience Experience working with animals Availability 1-3 evenings a week The work environment is loud and sometimes smelly, and you will need to be on your feet a lot, including spending time outside in heat, cold, and rain. There is always laundry to do and dishes to clean, as well as animal messes to clean up. You may have a boisterous dog knock you off balance once in a while. This is a physically and emotionally demanding job. For all that, though, it really is such a rewarding job!
