Job Summary: This entry level role performs a variety of editorial duties to prepare video assets for delivery or dissemination. The primary focus for this role will be centered on editing talking-head, classroom/podcast style content. This position will be responsible for helping take Adult Ministries (Men's, Women's, Marriage, Groups, and Equip) projects to the next level in post-production quality. This is an opportunity well-suited for a creative and motivated professional that's looking to help grow a film team, thrive on challenges, and who's comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should submit demo reels or samples from their video portfolio that demonstrate strong technical acuity and artistic vision, as well as the ability to piece together stories and bring graphics & titles to life as an editor. At the conclusion of film days, the editor will be responsible for backup, editing, and timely delivery of all content.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Reviews, evaluates, edits, and cuts footage so that the final version tells a story or communicates information as planned by producers or directors.
- Refines audio through sound mixing, scoring, or other postproduction work.
- Reviews content for accuracy.
- Maintains video equipment and video archives.
- Assists with pre-production planning and filming.
- Work with Adult Ministries Film Team to develop video content, including educational, promotional, and conference content.
- Create graphics packages and edit footage of the projects.
- Animating titles and motion graphic elements making IDs come to life.
- Collaborate with Directors and Producers to help identify the artistic elements of each production and determine the technical requirements or challenges.
- Work within budget constraints and steward Gateway resources with excellence.
- Occasionally assist in operating lighting, camera, and audio equipment both on location and in studio.
- Manage the complexities of tight deadlines.
- Train team members and volunteers on new and existing gear as needed.
Qualifications: - Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience.
- Strong candidates will be well versed in Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as graphics creation and animation using Adobe After Effects.
