Kites can be flown just about anywhere, there are even kites that are designed to be flown indoors. However, some places are better to fly than others. The best places to fly a kite have the following:
- Large open spaces - Gives you enough room to lay out your kite and flying line as well as space to fly and not crowd out other people or kite flyers. Sport Kite can move at speeds up to 60 mph, and flying lines can seriously injure a person.
- Steady smooth winds - Ocean beaches have the best winds. Turbulent air will negatively effect the way a kite flies.
- No Obstructions - The farther away you are from a building or trees the better. This will help smooth out the winds and reduce turbulence and swirling winds. Flying near power lines is not such a good idea, you could be in for a shocking experience.
